Our tour starts with the durable pickup truck that will take us through the beauties of the mainland for this ecotourism day trip of Chania! After we get the necessary breakfast for the day, we get our fruit harvesting equipment and head over to our private land, situated in a Natura 2000 environment. A professional farmer guides us through the organic fruit estate and describes the different varieties of fruit-bearing trees that can be found in the vicinity of Chania.
A short while later, we start fruit picking, a labour intensive, yet authentic and traditional work of our culture. Agriculture always played a vital role for every Cretan family, and we get the opportunity to take a short glimpse at our island’s culture on this agrotourism tour of Chania.Â
Gradually, we start to fill our fruit baskets, as those are being transported to our rugged pickup truck to head over to the fruit packing and processing facility. Just like on the Olive Oil Private Tour and our Olive Oil Winter Picking Tour, A short trip to the packing facility will let us explore the agricultural secrets of Crete and how organic fruits are being processed and packed on their way to the big markets of Europe.
Full of memories, and with organic fruits as presents of this day, we head over to a picturesque small village of mainland Chania in order to taste a traditional Cretan Lunch with whatever was available on this traditional family’s kitchen and farm.

Where the action and the fun begin! We start the collection of organic fruits, using only hand labour and caution!
Our freshly picked fruits have to be transported to the future processing facility. We use special equipment to make our life easier!
